3H

Hello from 3H

What a busy Term 4 3H has had! This was truly a term of hands on fun, learning and of course Camp! The students we able to explore their strengths and face their fears on our Year 3 Camp this term. Many faced their fears climbing to great heights on the Giant Swing, or zoomed across the sky on the Flying Fox.

Students took on the huge challenge of leaving their families behind, for the first time and exploring the amazing grounds of the Philip Island Adventure Camp. The students got to experience how to bush cook, use team work to navigate around set obstacles and support each other on the rock wall challenge. However, a true highlight was taking a long walk to the beautiful beach (yes even in the rain) and playing dodge the wave.

3H showed true teamwork and support while on the camp. Students celebrated their team’s successes and helped those who needed support or a pep talk. 3H demonstrated the meaning of our 5 values on this camp and even ate their vegetables at dinner time.

If camp wasn’t enough, 3H has also been learning and exploring the world of poetry. This has sparked in-depth conversations about how writers encourage an audience to reflect and use their emotions to guide a piece of work. Students have looked at language devices to create their own Diamond Poems and Onomatopoetic Poems. We really enjoyed the chance to share this work and compare it to some of the most amazing poetic writers works, such as Falling Leaves, The Troll and of course looking at the most amazing rhymer of all time, Dr Seuss!

Not only has Term 4 provided camp, poetry, Science Experiment Days, Food Science and the coming Christmas Concert, it also opened its doors to Bike Ed. This week students participated in the Bike Ed program. I was so proud to see 3H students again supporting each other and tackling new learning challenges.

Could we ask for a better Term 4? I don’t think so! We can’t wait for you to see where the last weeks of the school year takes us next!
