Early Holidays

If you and your family are planning on finishing up at kinder before the last day as per the above dates for your child's group, can you please make sure you inform your child's teacher as soon as possible what date will be their last day attending kinder for the year? This will ensure the educators can make their last day a little special, but also have their portfolios etc ready to give to you on their last day.

Uniform Orders

Our non compulsory uniform is now live and ready for purchases on QKR! for anyone keen to purchase some items for 2024.

The uniform options consist of a short sleeved t-shirt, a long sleeved t-shirt and a windcheater. They will have the kindergarten logo embroidered onto the left side of the chest of the garment.  Generally, the sizes are average to slightly generous.  All items can be viewed at the kinder in the foyer if you wish to check colours and sizes prior to purchase.

2024 Information Night

Thank you to everyone who attended the Information Night last week at the kinder.   We had a great turn out especially considering the weather.  Slides from the night have been emailed out, but if you have any questions about next year, please feel free to contact Meg either via email or call the kinder on 9874 4962.

Parent Survey

Thank you to everyone who completed our survey recently.  We received a great number of responses.  We will be exploring the results in full as a team at our next Team Meeting.  The survey will drive our goal setting for 2024 and beyond to ensure we are always meeting the ever changing needs of our community to the absolute best of our ability.

Feedback is always welcome, so please come and speak to Meg at any time, that you wish to let us know how we are doing.

4 YO Program

The 4 YO groups have started exploring our new "Bee-Bots"!  What are Bee-Bots?, I hear you ask... well Bee-Bots are exciting programmable floor robots. Bee-Bots are a wonderful digital technologies resource to introduce students to coding and computational thinking. The small robot can remember a sequence of up to 40 commands, directing it to move forwards and backwards and to turn 90 degrees left and right.  The children have started using some simple maps to have their Bee-Bots move around on, next the children will be challenged to make mazes for their Bee-Bot using objects in the classroom.

The 4 YoO's have also been enjoying lots of reading as they are showing more and more interest in letters words and sentences now that they are getting closer to starting school.

The works next door at the Vermont reserve continue to offer great viewing.  Some of the children can get very excited when a different truck or machinery is being used.  The conversations start, as to what it does and what it might be called.

The children have also enjoyed setting up obstacle courses, using lots of different equipment from the kinder.  They all love having a go and trying different ways to move through each of the obstacles.

3 YO Program

Both Banksia and Wattle groups have been very busy lately.  Some highlights of the past fortnight are:

  • Working on completing different Indigenous Art puzzles.
  • The children have been pushing each other on the swings, ensuring that they each have a turn.
  • Drawing and colouring in sheets that the children have selected.  They have been adding colour and then cutting around their pictures.
  • Exploring sensory play with shaving cream and cloud dough.  The children have been helping us choose different sensory resources to explore in our messy play tub.  Shaving cream is the favourite at the moment!
