Peer Support - Pre-Orientation Days
Planning Day
On Monday 4th December, my peers and I gathered to meet for our first group planning session. The day was very eventful and fun. We enjoyed each other's company and had some great laughs, while also sharing our ideas for next year! From free dress to Harmony Day, we discussed and created events to look forward to in 2024. My personal favourite that I and many of my peers will be looking forward to is the ‘Big Freeze’. I would, on behalf of the SRC, like to thank Mrs. Spiteri for all she does to help create a better and stronger student voice at Cheltenham Secondary College. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Student Leadership in 2024, and look forward to many fun events and activities! - Eva A.
On the Student Leadership Planning Day we introduced ourselves and I met many new people. After that, we had to make a lot of event ideas and sort them out from term to term. Then we went off to small groups and planned a main event that we were going to do next year. My groups main event was the Big Freeze. After lunch, we had to present to Miss Wallis, Miss Spiteri and the student leaders. It was a very productive day. - Andrew C.
Pre-Orientation Days - November
During November, 3 pre-orientation days (half days) took place. This means that our incoming Year 7 students got the opportunity to come to the school, meet teachers and peer support leaders, and get involved in some activities and games that the peer support leaders hosted. Some of these included robotics, which they were all pretty excited about, games like Uno and Celebrity Heads, and just being able to meet students from different schools who will also be attending Chelt.Sec next year. Being a Peer Support Leader has been pretty fun so far; walking around and talking to all of the students, and finding out what their interests are, what they were most excited about for next year and what new subjects they were looking forward to. - Elana S.
