From the President | Parents and Friends Association | 2023 Council
The School Council extends heartfelt wishes to the Chelt Sec community. I hope everyone is smoothly navigating towards the end of the year, managing the demands of the festive season, and anticipating the upcoming break.
I’ve been reflecting on this long school year and the many hours School Council members, both parents and school staff, have put in on governance and oversight for school operations. Running a government school is the work of the angels. There is an ongoing struggle to keep abreast of mounting expenses, ever-evolving technology, community expectations, and, most importantly, ensuring our children have ample opportunities to thrive.
Council efforts involve maximising every resource, leveraging supplementary funding avenues, extending community access to school facilities beyond regular hours, and relying on voluntary contributions. These contributions aren't merely donations; they enable us to offer educational experiences that move us beyond the basics. Your contributions enable hands-on learning, provision of cutting-edge equipment, and a curriculum designed to meet the diverse needs and aspirations of our children.
It is important that contributions remain voluntary, especially at this time of difficulty for many. However, contributions significantly enhance education. As 2024 approaches, I encourage you to reflect on the substantial impact your contributions can make towards enriching your child’s educational journey, and if you can, support the school and leadership efforts to secure the best possible outcomes for our children.
Wishing you a safe and happy summer break.

Parents and Friends Association
We continue to seek interested parents and friends to join the Cheltenham Secondary College Parents and Friends Association (PFA). We are not looking for you to run all sorts of complex meetings or events single-handedly. We simply want the PFA to have a large group of individuals willing to help at any fundraising or school events. We want it to be a fun group of people rather than a burden and grind for those involved.
If you want to be added to our mailing list, please complete the PFA Expression of Interest survey. To find out more contact Sharon: pfcheltsec@gmail.com
*If you have already completed the EOI, thank you. We have your details and will be in touch.
