Staff Carpark

We request that parents do not park their vehicles in the top carpark on Smith Street when dropping off or collecting your child.

This area is designated for staff, and if it is occupied by parents' cars it means that staff need to leave their vehicles parked on the main road all day.

There are numerous places to park around the school perimeter, as well as using the drop off zone on Smith Street.

We would appreciate your cooperation with this please.

Parent Payment Payment Policy

All students were given a letter yesterday with details regarding our Curriculum Contributions for 2024. Please read over the letter as it has important information. Please note, we do not require payment for this now, invoices will be sent out at the start of next year.

EFTPOS

We now have a permanent EFTPOS machine in the office. If you would like to pay for excursions or school fees, we can accept all credit/debit cards.

Finalising of Accounts

We ask all parents to please finalise their accounts before the end of the school year.

Cirriculum Contributions will only appear on your statement if you have asked for them to be added. If parents would like to make other voluntary contibutions, please log in to XUNO or contact the office.

COVID and other illnesses

There have been some cases of COVID in the school community. Please keep children at home if they are unwell, particularly if they are showing cold/flu symptoms, to reduce the spread of the infection they are carrying. The school still has a supply of Rapid Antigen Tests. If you would like some sent home, please contact the office.

Would all parents please note, Department of Education Guidelines stipulate that any child who has a vomiting and/or diarrhoea episode needs to remain absent from school for 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting and/or diarrhoea.

We understand the pressures placed on families with the prolonged absence of a child, however gastric illness can be easily passed from one student to another, so children are best kept at home until all 24 hours after symptoms have stopped.

Sunsmart School

A reminder that hats must be worn for outside play from the start of September. Please make sure your child has a broad-rimmed hat.

Spare clothing

Please pack some spare clothing for your child/ren. With the wetter weather upon us, many children are coming to the sickbay at recess and lunch wet or muddy. We have a limited amount of clothing in sick bay and cannot always give children spare clothing. If you child is excessively wet and muddy you will be contacted and asked to bring in a change of clothes.

Working With Children Checks / VITs

Would all parents please ensure their WWCC is current prior to nominating to help with activities during camps. It is a legal requirement for those assisting with child activities to hold a current WWCC (either volunteer or employee) OR a current VIT card (for teachers).

WWCC applications are free for volunteers and can be obtained online at https://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/.
