Graduation Ceremony

All of the information for this event is included in the Important Information section. We would also encourage families to include extended family and of course siblings as we have no restriction this year on how many family members can attend the ceremony.

Thank you SRC Reps

This week the Student Representative Council rounded off their year of events and meetings with a celebration full of fun in the staffroom. To recognize all the hard work our SRCs did this year, their final decision involved deciding what they wanted to do for a party. With an order from Dominoes Pizza, some hot chips, popping popcorn, and some refreshing cordial, our SRC’s enjoyed one last meeting together with a small presentation to show exactly what they had done this year (See attached PDF)! Thank-you Mr Hamish Burrill and Mrs Mandy Martin for all of their support and organisation. Thank you also to all our wonderful SRCs for their commitment and time organising and helping make our school a safer, better place!

Online Music Solutions Performances

We had two nights of entertainment this week with students from different schools that have been learning an instrument through Online Music Solutions showcase their musical talent. The Tuesday night showcased the woodwind instruments where students performed in small groups and as a collective. Some of the performances allowed for students to improvise. Wednesday night saw the stringed instruments take centre stage. The audience were witness to a range of popular and current musical pieces performed at a high standard. This was a great opportunity for the participating students to display bravery when performing in front of an audience as well as showcase their musical talent and skill.

Street Library-can you help?

It has been wonderful to see so many people accessing the street library during each week. We are wondering if a family would be able to assist in keeping an eye on it over the holiday time. This would only need to be done on a weekly basis and involve tidying it up and restocking if necessary. There are a couple of boxes of books at school that could be used. If you are able to assist for some or all of the time then please see Mr.Shaw. Thank you.

School Council Update

It was lovely to meet for our final school council meeting last Thursday. There is so much to celebrate. We would like to acknowledge the work by the admin and staff who invest so much into caring for and teaching our children and also for their work during report writing time. We congratulated the staff and leaders for 2024 and reflected on how lucky we are to have passionate and hardworking educators and leaders at our school.

We heard through the principal's report that enrolments are tracking well and students in Kindergarten and Foundation have been participating in our transition process. This is a fantastic program which supports students and families in a smooth and confident transition through the school. Year 1-5 transitions are coming up next!

The I.C.E. (Investigate, Create, Explore) Program is always a wonderful success and highly valued by the students and families. We are trying to find ways to encourage parents to come in and work with a small group of students on ANY skill! Stay tuned for some sneak peeks into what it involves and how you can join the fun!

Kitchen and Garden have planted some beautiful fruit trees which are being watered with sprinklers. We would love it if anyone could water the garden during summer. Please contact Bu Mundy or admin. There is also lots of excitement amidst the start of our new build with proposed new parking and toilets in the mix. There was a proposal from staff to encourage the use of classroom bins at playtime to help reduce litter on the yard. Much of the waste appears over the weekend, however we will trial more access to classroom bins during the week in an effort to improve the cleanliness of the school.

Thank you to families for their positive feedback and attendance on our Maths morning. School Council have discussed the possibility of separate senior and junior mornings to allow families to visit their children’s classes across year levels. We also had over 50 parents attend the World of Maths incursion to help out, as well as parent volunteers leading the Entrepreneur program.

On behalf of the school council we would like to thank all families for their feedback and support in working together to make our school a great place!
