Grade 1 and 2 News
Term 4, Week 10
As the year is coming to end we just wanted to take a moment to say how proud we are of our students and the year they have all had! We know if we asked them about their favourite parts we would hear all about the Zoo, Be Awesome Day and the Grade 2 Sleepover, which were all exciting events. But each and every day we see our students achieving new and amazing things. We are excited to see them all continue to flourish and grow in Grade 2 and 3. We thank our 1/2 families and community for all your support throughout the year and as this is our last official newsletter for the year - we wish you all a safe, happy and healthy holidays!
Swimming
Our students have done a fantastic job during swimming lessons over the past fortnight. It has been lovely to see their skills increase in the pool over the week and some students have even conquered a fear of water which has been so pleasing to watch. Congratulations to all students for their excellent behaviour and efficient changing at the end of each lesson. A big thank you to Mr Smith for his organisation of the event and to all families for supporting their child to be ready and organised each day!
In the classroom...
Students enjoyed writing and sending a letter to someone special to them! We hope family and friends enjoyed receiving a sample of writing in their letterbox.
As the year wraps up our grades have been cashing in their class rewards enjoying movies and snacks, free time and 'crafternoon' just to name a few.
During the last week and a bit at school students will be completing a range of activities relating to the focus books we will read, including a few Christmas stories. We will continue to revise long vowel sounds and the heart words learned throughout the year.
In Mathematics, students will be revising the concepts covered throughout the year through games and activities.
During Topic lessons, students will continue to present the posters they have created on an adult from their family.
