Reflecting on a Year of Pastoral Care

Mrs Jayarani Salerno, Assistant Principal Students

As we approach the end of another year, I reflect on the incredible year we have undertaken together.  The partnership with students, parents and carers, St Stephen’s Staff and the wider community has made this year a success. The landscape of education and student well-being is ever-evolving, presenting challenges and opportunities that shape the experiences of our students and the entire College community. I am certainly learning and growing every day.

Our 2023 and 2024 College Captains

It was wonderful earlier in the term to celebrate our year with the 2023 College Captains and then for these fantastic young people to hand over the reins to our incoming 2024 College Captains. We look forward to another great year in 2024 with our student leaders leading the way and encouraging student voice and agency whilst upholding the strong College expectations. Also, thank you to our 2023 Student Agency Team for their commitment and energy in continuing to make our College great. We had a small break-up gathering towards the end of the term. We look forward to the leadership retreat with our 2024 new student leaders on the 27th and 28th of November.

2023 Student Agency Team Break-Up

As we stand at the threshold of a new year, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to our dedicated educators, supportive parents, and, most importantly, our incredible students.  Your enthusiasm and engagement have been instrumental in making pastoral care and student voice a focal point for our College culture.

During the holiday period, looking at your child’s uniform and preparing for the next year is essential. Please visit our College website if unsure about the uniform and grooming expectations. You will see the current information and policies. Familiarising yourself with these expectations such as skirt length, introduction of shorts and trousers, hair cut expectation, labelled hats, and jewellery guidelines is vital and your support with uniform and grooming is paramount.

I wish you all a restful and rejuvenating holiday season with your loved ones. May the coming year bring joy, growth and continued success on our collective journey with your young people.

God bless and take care.
