DOSCEL and STAPS Annual Christmas Card Design Competition
The Process
Students have been very busy this semester planning and designing their Christmas card artwork based on the following scripture passage:
"They saw the child with Mary his mother;and they knelt down and paid him homage.Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him giftsof gold, frankincense, and myrrh." (Matthew 2:11)
We received an overwhelming 800+ entries for this year’s competition, with submissions from Visual Arts and Media Arts classes, as well as additional home entries.
Mrs Walker, Mrs Robertson, Mr Rooney, and Mr McDermott had the honour of reviewing all the entries and narrowing them down to approximately 100 finalists. From there, students in Years 3–6 and staff voted for their two favourite artworks from each level, resulting in the selection of the winners.

WINNERS are now published artists! Their artwork has been printed onto 100 Christmas cards and 200 stickers. WINNERS will also receive an A3-sized frame containing their artwork, card, sticker, and a certificate.
DOSCEL Competition
Early in the competition, Mrs Walker, Mrs Robertson, and Mr McDermott selected 20 entries to submit to the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Ltd (DOSCEL) as part of the best designs from all the Diocese’s primary and secondary schools. We are yet to hear the outcome, so stay tuned for the results.

This is a fundraiser, with all proceeds going to St Vincent de Paul.
Order forms will be sent home with your eldest child this week. More order forms are available at the office. Cash payments can be placed in the envelope and returned to school. Alternatively, you can indicate on the order form that you wish to pay by EFTPOS at the office.
Please note: We can only accept exact change for cash payments. Any additional funds will be considered a donation. Order forms must be returned by Monday, 2nd December.
