Child Safe &

Wellbeing

Dear Families,

Child Safety Code of Conduct At St Thomas the Apostle, Cranbourne East, the safety and well-being of our students are our highest priorities. To ensure a respectful and secure environment, we remind all parents, caregivers, guardians, and visitors of our

Child Safety Code of Conduct:

  • Always interact with students in a calm and child-appropriate manner.
  • Treat all children equally and with respect, promoting inclusivity.
  • Encourage independence by offering verbal guidance rather than physical assistance.
  • Report any concerns or suspicions of harm or inappropriate behaviour to the principal or, in criminal matters, Victoria Police.
  • Only photograph or film children with proper written consent, ensuring no other children are included without permission.
  • Refrain from consuming alcohol or illicit substances on school grounds or at events involving students.
  • Use adult-designated facilities and report any concerns to school leadership.

Breaches of this code may result in removal from the school grounds, meetings with school leadership, or police involvement if necessary. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all members of our school community.

We look forward to welcoming all members of our school community to our Christmas Carols school event next Tuesday 3rd December. We ask that you read through the Code of Conduct to familiarise yourselves with the expectations of all adults here at school.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email the school and direct your queries to Kate Dourley, Peta Overbury or myself.

Kindest regards,

Jen Gulavin (Deputy Principal-Inclusive Ed)
