Leadership Communication
Dear Families,
We are a missionary people! What does this mean?
Our students would tell you that we need to look out and see what needs to be done to help others.
This term our communities have been identifying need in the community or within the global community connected to our school. A plan for action to support or offer assistance was developed. The students thought about what they could do, how they could do it and when.
Today the Year 1 and 3 communities did a Walkathon to raise money for building an orphanage in Nigeria. The St Gianna orphanage is being constructed by the Sisters of the Nativity. Our own Sr Julie is a member of this congregation!
It was wonderful to see so many parents coming to cheer and participate in the efforts of these children.
The Year 2 community are supporting St Vincent De Paul society and had a visit from Mrs Ignace (one of our wonderful admin team) who talked about what help St Vinnie's offers people in our local community. The Year 2's joined some Year 6 leaders to create Christmas card packets which are currently available for sale. Please complete the order form that was sent home this week in your eldest child's bag.
It is exciting for us to see the joy and desire to help others that our students are exhibiting. The future will be one of promise with such active citizens who think about the needs of others.
