Fathering Project Event: BBQ & Lawn Games
On Friday 22nd, Pilgrim celebrated its biannual Fathering Project event with an afternoon full of laughter, competition, and connection. Despite the sweltering mid 30°C temperatures (praise the Lord for cloud cover), around 100 enthusiastic participants braved the heat to enjoy a variety of activities, delicious food and quality time together.
The event featured a range of lawn games that brought smiles to faces young and old. Particular favorites included sumo suit wrestling and a giant inflatable dartboard. The atmosphere buzzed with friendly rivalry and cheer.
One of the most talked about moments of the afternoon was the much anticipated Dads versus Kids soccer match. In what students gleefully referred to as "We destroyed them,” the kids triumphed in style, earning bragging rights and high fives all around.
Of course, no event is complete without good food and the classic sausage sizzle provided a perfect way to have a social dinner. The Fathering Project event has been something Pilgrim has committed to for two years now. It continues to be an important and valuable part of our culture.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event such a success. Particular thanks to the wonderful Hannah Y and Carol H who volunteered to cook the BBQ, it was very hot, and we are so grateful.
We look forward to seeing you at the next event!
