EDIFY
Congratulations to Claire P, Abby B, Jade M and Sari A on their work creating this year’s edition of Edify, titled ‘Journey of Life’.
Edify is a PVCC wide magazine which celebrates writing of all forms: poetry, short stories and reflections.
Our magazine was advertised, collated and edited by year 9 and 10 students, but the thirty authors and illustrators range from Year 6 students, secondary students, teachers and members of our school executive team. It has truly been a collective effort! Students this week enjoyed readings and chocolate as we celebrated its launch together at lunchtime.

Year 11 Celebration Night and Operation Christmas Child
Towards the end of last term and over the school holidays the year 11s had the opportunity to create a shoebox of gifts for a child in need to donate to the Operation Christmas Child organisation. Students took the initiative to go and collect items that the children would have liked such as balls, toys and health/hygiene products. The whole cohort stood together and spent their hard-earned money to help those who are worse off than them. Altogether, the school gathered over 65 boxes to donate. We feel privileged to be part of an initiative that brings joy to children, as they open gifts from across the world that are just for them. We appreciate programs like this that allow us to use our resources to bless others.
Bonfire, barbecue, games, motivational speakers, community and most importantly a jumping castle. These are all what we enjoyed a couple of weeks ago at our Year 11 celebration night. Organised by our amazing teachers, we enjoyed a special night filled with vulnerable and intimate conversations from speakers, laughs and a chance to enjoy life as a cohort. To say we enjoyed the night would be an understatement, as each student felt belonging and pride as we cherished the finite time we had together as a cohort.
Going into our final year of schooling is scary, but knowing we have a cohort we can count on makes us feel safe and secure. We are so grateful to the teachers for putting hard work and effort into this event, and hope there are many more like it ahead.
