From the Principal
Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
It is quite unbelievable to think we have come to the end of another school year.
We have come far this year, from the moment our littlest college attendees stepped through the door for their first day of their schooling journey right through to our first ever Year 12 cohort graduating.
Our Year 11 students spent their last day of school for 2024 last week reflecting on leadership and goal setting for the year ahead as they prepare for their final year of schooling.
Last week we held our Christmas Concert with our wonderful school community joining us indoors for our Christmas Market, Community Picnic and Concert. Students gathered on stage to perform many Christmas Carols. The evening was a huge success, well done to all involved in organising such a fantastic event, and a special mention to the Staff involved in the fantastic staff performance.
As 2024 comes to an end, we must also make ready for 2025. Tuesday this week saw all
students attend the Statewide Transition Day which was a wonderful opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with their 2025 Learning Mentors. It was also wonderful to welcome several of our new teaching staff for 2024, and of whom will inspire and guide the learning of their new students. Our 2025 Foundation students have also been joining us regularly for many transition days of their own to assist them to become familiar with our college for the new year.
Yesterday our Year 12 students received their VCE results. Congratulations to college dux, Manjot Rana on his outstanding results. Manjot along with fellow students Chiara Villani and Charli Guppy made up the top three performing St Anne’s College VCE students, and today they joined the Principal team for a special celebratory lunch. We wish all graduating Year 12 students every success in their future endeavours.
Our End-of-Year Mass held today, was a very special celebration indeed. We are grateful for Fr Ruel presiding so wonderfully and for Elizabeth Holligan putting together and organising all participants. Students sang some lovely Christmas songs with actions and our Foundation students performed a nativity play for the enjoyment of all in attendance, lead by learning mentor, Ellie Phillips. Congratulations to all involved. We all sang Happy Birthday to Fr Ruel to celebrate with him for his birthday today, and wished Fr Rene well on his new appointment.
Please enjoy a safe and happy holiday break with your family and friends, finding the moments of joy and celebrating together.
May you experience all the joys and blessings of Christmas. I look forward to seeing your happy smiling faces in 2025 as we come together for our first ever year with a full Foundation – Year 12 cohort.
