Foundation Incursion

Foundation Students Explore “Sharing the Planet”

Over the past two weeks, the Foundation students embarked on two exciting learning experiences: their very first excursion to Werribee Zoo and an engaging incursion with Wildlife Xposure. These activities have enriched their inquiry into the theme Sharing the Planet, focusing on the central idea: “The world is made up of things that are living and nonliving.”

At Werribee Zoo, students participated in the Habitat Heroes education session and enjoyed a thrilling safari around the zoo. They explored diverse habitats, gaining insights into how living things grow, adapt, and survive in their environments.

During the Wildlife Xposure incursion, students had the unique opportunity to encounter some of Australia’s incredible animals up close. From touching and holding non-venomous pythons to marveling at saltwater and freshwater crocodiles, the students were captivated by this hands-on experience—all within the comfort of their classroom.

These immersive activities have inspired curiosity and deepened the students’ understanding of the fascinating world around them.
