TERM 4

We are on the final countdown to the Festival of Hidden Treasures this coming Saturday, 23 November from 2:00-7:00.  We are looking forward to seeing our whole school, your extended family and the local community come along and enjoy the day.  Here are a couple of updates:

  • As the day is looking hot, we are excited to let you know that we have been able to change the inflatable slide into a water slide! Just what we will need on the day. Unliimited rides Wristbands are available before the Festival for $25 each, $30 on the day.  Individual rides on the day will be $10.
  • A $100 gift certificate from Zonzo Winery in the Yarra Valley, will be drawn at our assembly following the Festival for parent volunteers who sign up and attend on the day.
  • Donations are in full swing (books, clothes, toys, BBQ sauces, items for the produce stall) with everything still being received.  If you are out shopping and wanted to pop something in the basket to donate then please consider chocolate blocks for the Chocolate Toss or a "Lucky Jar" full of treats for the Lucky Jar stall.  The final draw for the free wristband will be at assembly tomorrow.

Lookout for the musical entertainment at the festival...the lineup looks amazing!

Visitors from Hong Kong

The one hour whirlwind visit from nearly 40 principals and assistant principals from Hong Kong on Friday 8 November, was a huge success.  They were delighted with the student Ambassadors who guided them around the school from one wellbeing session to the next and were very interested in our Encounter Program in July 2025. Here are the Foundation students making more palm stones for the Wellbeing Wall with some of our visitors.

Wellbeing Wednesday

At lunchtime yesterday, thirteen Future Leaders from Year 10 at Norwood Secondary College visited our school for Wellbeing Wednesday.  They brought with them games, mindfulness colouring, loomband making activities, squishies and free icypoles for everyone!  Everyone, including the Year 10s, had such a great time, we are looking to invite them back once per term next year.

Parents' Association

Our newly formed Parents' Association held its Annual General Meeting this week and I would like to congratulate the following parents for taking up the formal positions after a hotly contested election process:

Vice-President - Caitlin Cameron (Patrick 2K, Harvey FS)

Treasure - Bruce Rohde (George 3/4M, Sebastian FS)

School Council Representative - Bao Nguyen (Jonah 1M)

After the formal meeting the Parents Association met for their first meeting and brainstormed a long list of activities and fundraising for 2025.  Stay tuned for more information to follow.
