Messy Mud Day
Merry Christmas everyone!
I cannot believe we are at the end of the 2024 academic year already. However, all the end of year celebrations and events have made for a busy and joyful conclusion. There are so many wonderful events to share, I will list them below and let the pictures, student and staff voice tell the story.
We have enjoyed –
This weekend we also have the Armadale Carols by Candlelight where our Choir will be performing. This is always a wonderful event! Thank you to Miss Hollie Burbage for her work to support the student involvement.
Have a safe, happy and holy Christmas and I look forward to seeing everyone back in the new year.
Take care

On Wednesday morning the Early Learning Centre delighted families and friends with their heartwarming Nativity play, Baarmy Bethlehem. Held in the BDISC, the performance showcased the enthusiasm and creativity of our youngest learners, who brought the Christmas story to life with charm and cheer.
From shepherds to angels, and even party sheep, each child played their role with pride, donning colourful costumes and singing carols that filled the room with Christmas spirit. The effort and preparation from both the children and their dedicated teachers and Education Assistants were evident, making the event a memorable experience for all who attended.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the play a success, especially the parents who supported their children in practicing and providing costumes. It was a wonderful reminder of the joy and togetherness the season brings.
On Night of Living Treasures, we all were really nervous about speaking in front of other people, parents and guardians, but once we started to talk it became more comfortable for us. All the lovely teachers were in their amazing dresses and were supporting us as much as they could so that we would be even more comfortable. It took a long time for us to choose our person and the tools we used to help us were the stress test, fishbone diagrams and some people even used books. Although it was a bit scary, we had a lot of fun presenting and especially having icy-poles as a treat at the end!

The night started at 6:00pm with a procession of Year 6s lead by our Head Girl and Head Boy, Violet Blanchard and Declan Vesey. After a welcome from the Head Captains and the School Prayer, we got to take a trip down memory lane with recounts of each of our Primary years, written and spoken by Year 6 students. Following this, we got to watch a fantastic and funny video montage created by Mrs Richards and Mrs King with footage gathered by Mrs Dunn. Watching this video filled us with nostalgia and made us feel proud of the journey we have had over the years. Then, Mrs Rogers made a speech on the importance of pushing through challenges (and packing enough food), especially if you are sailing across the Pacific Ocean like her daughter! Year 11 student, Georgia Smithson, then wowed us all with her performance of 'Wake up' by Madison Reges, followed by a 'Welcome to Secondary School' from Acting Dean of Pastoral Care, Ms Jaquie Fisher, and the Head Prefects for 2025, Emelia Haydar and Jasper Palmer.
We must not forget the jaw dropping performance 'Always remember you' from Hannah Montana, performed by our young star, Shiney Hewage. This leads us to the next part of the ceremony, handing out of graduation folders. Once "the press" got their photographs we collected our candles for the candle tradition, to the sound of the song "One Little Candle" sung by Ms Burbage and accompanied by Ms Shwe. This was a tear - jerker for many of the parents. We screamed our hearts out in the three cheers, before this memorable night came to an end.

Our Primary Praise and Thanksgiving is always a lovely opportunity to gather, celebrate and share our gratitude for all the wonderful learning that takes place during the year. Today's event was no different. Congratulations to everyone on a great year.
The Amazing race was held on Wednesday 3 December. The day started off with waiting for our friends and checking out each other's outfits, since every class had different themes! Then we met in Upper Primary to get our instructions. We started with our activities that our class planned, to test if it was running well and that the Year 9s knew what to do to instruct other classes. Then we got given a clue for the next challenge. We had three challenges before recess, four before lunch and then four after lunch. At the end of the day we had to find the sleeping Elf, who turned out to be Mrs Rogers! We weren’t allowed to wake her up while we snuck past to get our class lunch box. Once we got it, we ran away and brought it to our teachers…inside was everyone’s favourite icey pole ‘Cyclones’. It was a great day, and all of the challenges were fun but difficult. It was awesome!

Last week, our Early Years students embraced the joy of summer with the much-anticipated Messy Mud Day! The event was packed with muddy fun and creative activities, leaving everyone smiling (and very messy!).
The highlight of the day was the slip and slide, where students zipped down the track with laughter echoing through the air. The potion-making mud kitchen station was equally popular, with young inventors mixing mud, water, and other natural ingredients like herbs and flowers to create their imaginative concoctions.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who made this day possible. It was a wonderful way for our students to explore, play, and enjoy the great outdoors!
Congratulations to the 24 Years 3 and 4 students who won both divisions at the 2024 Red Ball Tennis Tournament last week held at Thornlie Tennis Club!
