The House Cup
Gandhi House, what an incredible year we have had – capped off as joint winners of the House Cup with Mandela at Presentation Night on Wednesday night!
Getting to know all the students by popping into PCGs every morning has been an absolute pleasure. Not only do we have a number of incredibly talented students, but a group of caring, passionate and fun individuals. Thank you for your contributions, enthusiasm and casual chats across the year.
I cannot wait to see everyone back and raring to go for Sync Swim and the Interhouse Dance competition as we commence in Term One. We are in very safe hands with the leadership of both Rory and Mackenzie as we commence 2025. Thank you for a great year and I wish everyone a lovely summer break. Go Gandhi!
Miss Amy Perejmibida
Head of Gandhi House
Here we are at the end of another fantastic year of fun, learning, camaraderie and House spirit. While we did not take away the 2024 House Cup, I can not help but feel immense pride for our students in Lincoln House. Thank you to all students who have completed a race, played music, danced, gamed, baked and participated in an activity representing Lincoln House. I am always blown away by the number of students getting up and giving it a go. As we move into 2025, I encourage all of our students to challenge themselves further, especially in our first big event in the Interhouse Swimming Carnival in Term One. I wish all of the Lincoln students and families the best holiday break and hope you all have a wonderful and restful time, returning fully energised to give it our all in 2025!
Merry Christmas to you all,
Mr Vincent Lim
Head of Lincoln House
We did it Mandela! We won the House Cup for the first time, after an unbelievable year, drawing for first place with Gandhi! Well done, Gandhi and Ms Perejmibida, and thank you Lincoln and Mr Lim for a great year. The competition has been fierce but incredibly fun!
As this is my last Dragon article as Mandela's Head of House before beginning my exciting new role as the Head of Year 7 and 8 in 2025, I say a huge thank you to all our incredible students and staff of Mandela House. We are so blessed to have such a fantastic group of students not only in Mandela House, but the school as a whole, and the staff that take the time to know and support each student individually. St George’s is truly a wonderful place to be.
Being Mandela Head of House has been a privilege and the highlight of my teaching career so far and I want to thank you for all that you have given and accomplished over the past two years. Yes, we have had the greatest participation, won the most events this year and accomplished our goal of winning the House Cup with our best year yet, which is something we should all be incredibly proud of, but that is not the most important thing.
What I am most proud of is how you have all come together as a House and grown as people. I have seen how every single stude
zone, tried new things and worked to achieve goals in all aspects of school life. Whether it be picking up rubbish on Level 3 without being asked or trying to learn the solo of “Hotel California”, we as your teachers, have seen you grow into fantastic and capable students and you can be proud of yourselves for that.
Thank you to Wil Moesker our House Captain this year, our PCG Tutors and Students of Mandela House. Good Luck Zuri and Amelie for next year, Mandela is in very good hands with you and Mr Sloan taking the reins. Let’s go back to back! Thanks Mandela! And remember, whilst in a new role I will remain a dedicated, committed and enthusiastic member of Mandela House.
Happy Christmas to you all,
Mr Thomas Dempers
Head of Mandela House
