Introducing our inaugural Friends of St George’s

In 2025 we are excited to be establishing our very first Friends of St George’s, a collegial group which has been developed for parents, guardians and carers who are keen to support our students, our staff and our school community as a whole beyond the confines of the classroom.

Friends of St George’s is intended to work with the school, as a voluntary committee, for the purpose of promoting and supporting the goodwill and friendships that already exist between parents, staff and students of St George’s Anglican Grammar School. Central to this relationship will be the pursuit of the Mission, Vision and Values of the Anglican identity of our School as part of the AngliSchools network of schools.

Our hope is that the Friends of St George’s will quickly become a warm and welcoming contact point for all families so as to heighten and enhance the connectedness and positive sense of community on which our school is based.

Friends of St George’s will be formally launched at the beginning of the 2025 academic school year.

We will initially be seeking expressions of interest from our school community for specific roles as part of the Management Committee. These people will work closely with the Principal, Dean of School Operations and Business Manager to bring the vision of Friends of St George’s to life. It is also hoped that we will be able to recruit a parent representative from each year group who would become part of the committee and represent the views of their year group.

These are exciting times for us as a school. The inaugural meeting of Friends of St George’s is already on the 2025 School Calendar - Thursday 20 March from 5.00 – 6.00pm.

As the idea for a Friends of St George’s group came from a variety of more casual conversations with parents, we hope that it will be a source of inspiration as we continue to grow, develop and evolve as a School. With 2025 seeing us celebrate 10 years of being in the heart of the city, we could not think of a more perfect time to launch our Friends of St George’s.
