What a year it has been!
The PE Department would like to sincerely congratulate all of you on your organisation and commitment to the 2024 PE Programs. You all do a great job travelling around Perth, getting on and off public transport, and walking around the community with all the public. You are all brilliant ambassadors of our school. The PE Department thank you for being responsible and reliable out there in the public, and for your enthusiastic participation in our lessons.
We are excited for 2025 as our programs are exploding.
We have new electives starting, including Sports Specialist (SPEC) in Year 9, Sports Science in Year 10 and then APEx and ATAR PES and APEx Outdoor Education in Year 11 and 12. With the growth of our School and all our PE programs we will see two new Phys Ed’ers in the Department for 2025. Mr Adam Edwards and Miss Molly Raynor will be starting with us at the beginning of 2025. Just like that, and the HPE department will be a department of six full time staff.
This is what’s ahead!
As always, we start our PE Programs with Swimming. All PE classes will be taken by hired
buses to UWA Aquatics for our PE lessons for the first six weeks of school. So, get your bathers, goggles and towel ready!
We also have early-morning swimming training which is open to all St George’s students and will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at Beatty Park Swimming Pool 6.30AM - 7.30AM. Students will meet at the pool, and we will return by public transport back to the Roe Street Busport to be on time for PCG at school.
Some important dates to put in your calendar. Our Interhouse Swimming and Sync Swim Carnival is on Tuesday, 4 March at Claremont Aquatic Centre. The ACC C-Division Swimming Carnival will follow at HBF Stadium on Tuesday 25th March 2025.
On behalf of the PE Department, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
Stay active and we look forward to seeing you all back in the New Year.
