I had the privilege this week of being involved in Year 12 Transition – accompanying our Year 11 students on many adventures. It was wonderful to work with the whole year group, particularly during a practical vision board session.
Vision boards are a powerful tool for goal setting, helping students visualise their dreams and aspirations while taking a creative and reflective approach to planning for the year ahead. It was such a fun and engaging activity, and I loved seeing everyone get involved. During the workshop, students used magazine cut-outs, inspiring words, and personal touches to create boards that reflected their goals for school, personal growth, and future ambitions. The energy and creativity in the room were truly inspiring, and it was wonderful to see students connecting with their values and aspirations.
In addition to the workshop, we were fortunate to have two incredible guest speakers from the mental health community join us: Tara from Seagals and Lachie from 20Talk. Tara shared empowering messages about resilience, self-belief, and her own journey since finishing school, while Lachie facilitated an amazing mental health workshop. Their contributions added immense value to the week, and it was such a privilege to have them on board.
As the holidays approach, I encourage all families to consider creating their own vision boards at home. It’s a fun and meaningful activity that requires just a few supplies—some music, magazine cut-outs, and your imagination. I have attached a workbook I made for our Year 11 students to use as a guide - I hope you can use it as an opportunity to reflect on the year that’s passed and set intentions for the year ahead.
Wishing all our students and families a wonderful, relaxing Christmas break and a restful holiday season. Thank you for making this year so memorable—I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our students next year.
Take care,
