Scratch Animation in Digital Technology

This term, us year 7s have been learning to block code and create animations on Scratch. This has helped us to enhance our coding skills and creativity. We’ve learnt how to change sprites, which are characters in scratch, whether you’d like to browse in the library or uploading your own. We have also learnt how to change and upload backgrounds, additionally we have learnt how to use broadcasting blocks to allow sprites to interact with each other. Lastly, Digital Technology is fun subject where students have the freedom to dive into another universe of block coding and their imagination.

Uvleen 7A

This term in Digital Technology we have started learning block coding as a way to improve our coding skills. As a good way to express our coding skills we have started using Scratch. We are creating animations for an assessment which includes sound effects, making sprites move, conversations between them, background changes and costume changes. I have started doing a pretty good story line for my animation which includes a lot of the things that have been listed above. At the end of lessons we check each other’s animations for feedback and improvement.

This term in DT we learnt how to use scratch and make cool animations. We learnt how to do many vital skills such as, creating sprites, adding sound effects and removing backgrounds. My scratch animation is going well, I have added some sprites that you have gotten from the internet. I am working on making my animation better by adding sound effects and troubleshooting my block code.

This term, I enjoyed block coding because it is fun. I have learnt how to code in scratch. My animation is about travelling, and then they get caught by the cops and then they go to sleep.

Leonard 7C

This term in digital technology we have learnt how to code on scratch and make our own animations. I have enjoyed coding and making my own animation. I have learnt key skills such as troubleshooting, and I feel more confident using my device. 

Lucas 7C

This term in Digital Technology I learnt how to code really good. My favourite thing was about when we learnt about scratch and made our own animation. I am kinda grateful for this experience. I liked that I could use my own sounds and songs and add them to my animation.
