Big Band 2 and 3 perform at the Ashgrove Probus Club

Last Thursday, Big Bands 2 and 3 had the pleasure of performing at the Red Hill Bowls, Sports and Community Club for the Probus Club. Probus offers retirees a valuable opportunity to connect socially, fostering a sense of community in today's world. The bands delivered two lively sets of jazz music, which were met with great enthusiasm and appreciation from the audience. Members especially enjoyed the refreshing break from their usual meetings, with the music lifting everyone's spirits. A heartfelt thank you to Brian Blaney and Brother Adrian Story for the kind invitation and for making the event possible.

Year 5 String and Band Concert

Well done to the Year 5 boys who recently presented their Semester 2 concert to conclude the year. The boys had a very successful year and we are looking forward to many of them continuing their musical journey at Marist in 2025.

Lunchtime Concert

This concert featured 2012 Old Boy clarinettist Sacha Gibbs-McPhee. Sacha graduated from the University of Queensland in 2016 after being awarded the top performance prize of the school. Soon after graduation, he was accepted into a master's program at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Sacha presented an engaging workshop for our clarinet students followed by a very entertaining program of exciting clarinet repertoire. A big thank you to Sacha and Ms Melanie Stewart who accompanied this challenging program.

Graduation and Senior Farewell

A big thank you to all of the Marist Musicians involved in this year’s end-of-year events. We had much to celebrate this year and the boys have excelled at multiple activities. The Graduation Mass and Farewell Ceremony were a particular highlight for our musicians last week with the Grade 12 Vocal Quartet of Max Bathersby, Oliver Betts, Liam Bourke and George Bishop receiving much praise from the College Community with their rendition of  “Time to Say Goodbye”.
