Dear Families,
The end of the year is fast approaching, however the continued focus on learning and wellbeing remains as WVPS.
In the past week I have received correspondence from our substantive school principal Sue Seneviratne advising of her plans for 2025. Sue has made the decision to retire at the conclusion of the year. Sue has been an integral figure across the WVPS landscape since the establishment of the school in 2015. We thank her for all her efforts in supporting students, staff and families throughout her tenure and wish her all the best with her future endeavours. Sue has provided a letter directed to our families which has been included within this newsletter.
This weekend we have our Grade 6 Robotics team travelling to Sydney to compete in the National Robotics Championships following their success at the recent state-based competition. We are sure they will represent themselves and the school proudly and wish them good luck.
Our first transition session for our 2025 Foundation students was held last week. It was fantastic to see the many smiling faces of our incoming students and their families. These transition sessions are extremely valuable in supporting students to make a successful leap into their schooling journey. We look forward to our upcoming transitions sessions and seeing these smiling faces again.
School Saving Bonus:
All families should have received correspondence via email regarding the School Saving Bonus and the necessary details on how to access the government provided financial bonus. If you have any questions or queries, you can email school.saving.bonus@education.vic.gov.au or call 1800 338 663 during business hours.
Enrolment 2025
Our school transition visits for our 2025 Foundation students have already commenced. If your child is attending Foundation at WVPS in 2025 they need to be enrolled to participate in these sessions. If we have yet to receive an enrolment application from you, unfortunately your child will not be able to participate in these sessions. However, there is still time to get the necessary forms completed to have them involved in these very important sessions. Collect an enrolment pack from the front office TODAY – or enrol via the link on our website.
Information Session- 2025 Foundation Families
We will be hosting an information session for 2025 Foundation families on Wednesday 4th December. This session will provide key details to our Foundation families including information regarding their 2025 class and teacher, which is aimed at ensuring a smooth start to the child’s schooling at WVPS. This session will be held in the school gymnasium commencing promptly at 7pm and concluding at 8pm.
2025 School Planning:
As we move closer towards the end of the year, planning around the 2025 school year is well underway. To support us with these plans, we kindly are asking that if your child will not be returning to Wyndham Vale Primary School in 2025 to please contact the school informing us of this information. We thank you for your assistance with this matter.
