Level 5 Camp - Waratah Bay

On Monday 18th November our Level 5 students headed off to Waratah Bay for their 3 day surfing camp. This was the school's first time at this camp and our first time surfing, and it was a huge success. Our students participated in a range of outdoor ed activities including a 3 hour surfing lesson. Amazingly almost all of the students managed to stand up - even those who have never surfed before. We extend a huge thank you to the staff and parents who attended the camp and gave up their time to ensure all of our students had a fabulous camping experience. Thanks to Kate Wallis, Kelly James, Sam Anderson, Mitch Clark, Tania Balderston, Liam Sommers, Moira Mugnier, Chelsea Verrell, Simon Davies, Margi Ang, and Jayce Bryant.

Curriculum Day

On Tuesday 26th November our school staff participated in a full day of Professional Learning here at school. We began the day looking at our Curriculum Planning documents with refinements to put in place ready for our School Review in 2025. We then unpacked more detail of the new Victorian Curriculum Literacy and Numeracy 2.0. After morning tea we focused on the new Disability Inclusion Model and also had our first look at the Zones of Regulation - a wellbeing language we will begin to use in classrooms from Term 1. After a delicious lunch we all participated in our annual CPR and First Aid training with Revive to Survive.

Art Auction

On Thursday 21st we held our Art Auction Event in the school gym. It was a fabulous evening with a string orchestra on entry, a highly skilled pianist throughout the evening, a professional auctioneer, Sotheby's style paddle bidding, and so many fabulous collaborative art pieces up for sale. We thank the wonderful staff and parents who attended the night and those who bid online, thank you to Mike Muncey our auctioneer from Noel Jones Mitcham, and a huge thank you to the art department - Mel O'Brien and Deirdree Geilings for their hours of work and planning to bring the beautiful event to life! We hope that all of the families who picked up an art piece, enjoys them for years to come. Proceeds from the event are going to the Berry Street Art Therapy Program.

Bunnings BBQ and Bake Sale

On Sunday 24th November the Level 6 families together with the wonderful P&F Committee ran a hugely successful Bunnings BBQ and Bake Sale. With hundreds of sausages and cakes sold on the day this was a fantastic fundraiser for the school. We thank Brooke Kirke for organising and running this event - and all of the families who baked or volunteered on the day. Proceeds are going to the Level 6 Graduation.

New Playground

We are delighted to be in a position to replace our oldest playgrounds 'Yellows' and 'Biggies' with a new bespoke Ninja Warrior style Junior Playground for 2025! We are again working with the wonderful team at Rocket Box and have consulted with teachers and students across the Junior School to design a wonderful new play space in the top corner of the grounds. Work will commence on this project this term with completion in early Term 1.

Carols

Our whole school Carols Night is coming on 11th December at The Round! Bring the family and a picnic blanket and have dinner from 5 - 6pm on the lawns. The official program will commence from 630pm. It will be a spectacular night for all of the community.
