Karate Clinics
Last week all classes participated in a Karate session during P.E. lessons. These Karate clinics were conducted by Sensei Kathryn and Anita from Challenge Centre. The children learned some very important life lessons such as respect, sportsmanship, teamwork, encouragement and kindness, while performing some physical Karate actions.
It was great to see the children working together to perform their personal best for the benefit of their team and congratulate each other whether they won or lost.
Every child received a certificate of participation and free lessons plus a puzzle book, via the QR code:

Region Relay Championships
On the 16th of November I participated in the Eastern Metropolitan Region Athletics Relay Championships as part of the Box Hill Athletics Club. I ran in the U12 4 x 200m boys, 4 x 200m mixed, and boys medley relay. I was really excited about the races but also felt nervous because I wanted to do my best. What really helped my nerves on the day was being part of teams with kind and supportive people. We all encouraged each other to do our best for the team and ourselves, and we ended up winning gold in all three races! Now I am training with the Box Hill team to participate in the State Relay Championships in December. I will do my absolute best and have as much fun as I can with my friends to enjoy our races and hopefully, we will all run personal best times, and maybe even get medals! Running against the fastest runners in the state is so nerve racking but also exciting - I can’t wait for the challenge. Jayan C (Year 5)
Prep to Year 2 House Sports
Prep to Year 2 students are looking forward to their Junior House Sports next Thursday, 5 December. Students will compete for their House (Boyd, Drysdale, Lindsay, Nolan) on Essex Heights Reserve (next door to the school) from 9.30am to 11am.
Please remember:
- Children are encouraged to wear their house colours, e.g. t-shirt and shorts/skort

Families are welcome to spectate around the outside of the oval.
In the event of wet weather, the House Sports will be held in the Stadium gymnasium. Due to space restrictions in the gym, students will need to participate in two groups (group one would be Prep and half Year 1, and group 2 would be half Year 1 and Year 2).
