Newcastle Permanent Primary Schools Maths Competition
This annual maths competition gives Year 5 and Year 6 students from across regional NSW the opportunity to test their numeracy and problem-solving skills. It is one of Australia’s longest running annual mathematics competitions and attracts almost 20,000 students from across the state. Year 4 students at HTS this year had an opportunity to sit the test, however, they competed in the year 5 division.
Congratulations to all students for their participation. Particular mention goes out to those who received High Distinction Awards; George Xavier, Riley Woodward, Jack Sweeney, Sophie Foley, and Distinction Awards; Hugh Hamilton, Will Bloch, Elka Dunlop, Marley Schutz, Pippa Butcher, Albert Taylor, Paige Potter, Darcy Kennedy, Fletcher Andrews and Darcy Cellar (a year 4 student). Students received their Awards this week.
Students have permission to bring a football, soccer ball, netball or handball to school to use during their lunch and snack time. They have been asked to have their name on the ball to ensure it is returned to them if misplaced.
Kind Regards
