Celebrating Class of 2025

Mr Anthony Robbins

And just like that it's over!

The class of 2025 have, for all intents and purposes, completed their journey at the College.

It seems like only yesterday for many of us that these young people were being welcomed to the campus as Year 8’s; the last group to attend Sion and the junior campus.

Over the last few weeks the students have had an opportunity to reflect on their journey and cast their eyes forward to what their future may hold. They began their farewells with a look back at their time at the College and offered some words of wisdom to the students of their various houses in their penultimate house meeting. Overwhelmingly their message was make the most of the opportunities that are presented to you whilst you are at school. Whether it be thinking carefully about choosing your subjects or participating in school based activities the class of 2025 were positive about their time here. The Retreat was definitely a favourite, and invariably most houses heard …..don’t sweat the small things!

From there we moved to the end of the final full week of school and a few theme days including Crazy Sock Day, Crazy Hair Day and Anything but a Bag where they transported their resources using anything but their school bag. Students were very creative with a hollow Cat Scratching post one of the more unusual entries.

The final two days saw our traditional Balloon Ceremony and Gratitude Day. The Balloon ceremony is always a special day as the whole school community are able to say farewell to the year 12 class. Speeches were heard and emotions ran high as the beginning of the end came more rapidly into view. The highlight is the Baby photo presentation. Thank you to Polly Bicknell who spent a great deal of time putting that together. Thanks also to Jimmy Greenwood and Ieesha Abdallah for taking us in a walk down memory lane.

Gratitude day began with the traditional early morning breakfast and the hungry hordes were thankful for Nathan and Molly’s sustenance. From there it was farewells and gifts with their houses and dress up time for the famous parade. There were some great costumes and collaboration on display, capturing the fun and spirit of the day!

In amongst the frivolity were a couple of opportunities to pause and give thanks for time spent at the College. Students were able to leave their message of gratitude to the College on the Valedictory banner and spent time in the charism garden reflecting on their journey. All of this was followed by the Colour Run that finished up with some pretty colourful students and an even more colourful photo!!

Finally, it was time to go. The last school day was run and won, and it was time to prepare for exams, the workforce or further training and the final gathering at the Valedictory.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish our entire Class of 2025 every success in the future. We thank them for their contribution to the rich history of the College and hope that they will remember fondly their time as a member of the Catholic College Sale family.
