Principal's Update
Mr Brett Van Berkel
Dear College Community,
Welcome to Term 4, a period of reflection, celebration, and anticipation as we near the end of another remarkable year at Catholic College Sale.
For our Year 12 students, this term signifies the end of their formal education. Whether they are preparing for final exams or entering employment and further training, we send our sincere congratulations and best wishes for the path ahead. This marks a significant milestone, and we are proud of the young adults they have become.
We also recognise that this can be an emotional time for parents and carers. The uncertainty of “what comes next” is natural, but please be reassured that the opportunities, experiences, and learning we have provided (together in partnership) have built a strong foundation for your child’s future. While the road ahead may not always be straightforward, it is their unique journey and will shape who they are meant to become.
As a College, we look forward to celebrating with you and supporting your child throughout the upcoming weeks, including exams, work placements, and the Valedictory events. Please remember that we are here to support you and your child during this transition period, and we are happy to assist in any way.
Importantly, we ask our Year 12 students to finish their time at the College with gratitude, respect, and care for one another. This is a time to honour the relationships built, the staff who have guided them, and the community that has supported them. We expect students to uphold the values of Catholic College Sale by treating others with kindness, respecting the College environment, and by celebrating responsibly. Let’s ensure these final weeks are safe, positive, and memorable for all.
At the end of Term 3, we welcomed back students who took part in the Timor immersion experience. This was a meaningful opportunity for them to connect with the culture of Timor-Leste and see firsthand the positive impact of their fundraising efforts in supporting education for Timorese students.
This experience is a crucial part of our social justice outreach programme, which we are eager to expand further in 2026. We sincerely thank the staff who guided the students throughout the fortnight and the students themselves, who embraced the opportunity with open hearts and minds. Their compassion, curiosity, and dedication to service are truly inspiring.
As 2025 approaches its end, we are eager to share some important developments that will further improve learning and opportunities at the College.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Term 4 is a time of celebration, transition, and hope, and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Kind regards,
Brett Van Berkel
