A Fun-Filled Day of Science and Italian Culture!

Recently, Year 7 and 8 Italian students enjoyed a wonderful co-curricular excursion that combined Science and Italian culture at the Kyabram Fauna Park and the Kyabram Italian Bocce Club.

The morning began at the Fauna Park, where students explored the wonders of Australian wildlife and participated in four engaging, hands-on science activities. These included investigating animal habitats and ecosystems, observing the fascinating meerkats, learning about birds of prey, and discovering how animals adapt to their environments. Students also had the opportunity to roam freely around the park, getting up close and personal with many of the resident animals — an unforgettable experience for all!

By lunchtime, everyone was ready for a well-earned break. The students were warmly welcomed at the Bocce Club, where a delicious bowl of homemade Italian pasta, lovingly prepared by the Italian ladies, awaited them. Re-energised and inspired, the students then took to the bocce courts in groups of four. Under the expert guidance of Joe Greco, they learned the rules and techniques of this traditional Italian game before enjoying a lively round of competition.
