Staging a production is a process that takes huge amounts of time and effort from a committed community. Most students have little prior knowledge or experience of theatre, so it’s a journey of trust. After a big term of rehearsal and preparations, here are some reflections from Year 4A & 4C students. What was the most impactful?
Knowing we were performing on stage to a sold out crowd was incredible, and that I played a part in the show gave me a very warm & fuzzy feeling inside. – Laura S
The Double Trouble is stuck in my head. I loved the choreography. – Archie

What did you enjoy most?
I enjoyed placing the coin in the box. It built my courage up way higher. – Archie

What are you proud of?
I am proud of the fact that I was to keep working and to remember all my lines and sing by myself in front of 200 people. – Phoebe S.
I am really proud of when on the first night I forgot my line BUT the next night I came back and slayed it! – Rosalie W.

What benefits do you think you got from doing the show, or what have you learned about yourself that you didn’t know before?
I learned how much I like helping others from being Dance Captain at the front leading. – Emily B

I have come out of this production with more resilience than I had before and more courage. – Maeve M.

It’s okay to be nervous or scared because that means you care. – Chilli S.
I never give up. I get back up when I get it wrong. You will get it right in no time. If you’re tired, keep going. – Edward

The theatre gave me a feeling that I never had before - I belong there. When I heard about my lead role, my ‘self’ left me and that’s where all of my confidence finally caught me. – Lachy M.
Devices (phones, iPads, watches, etc …) could not be brought to the theatre. Did you miss yours? Why, or why not?
I didn’t miss my device even the tiniest bit - which I was slightly surprised about - because I was having so much fun. – Laura S.
I was too focussed on having fun on stage. – Eden F.
I didn’t miss my device. Although devices are fun, the production was so much ‘funner’. – Oscar H.
