Already this term our students have excelled at the Beachside Division Athletics, Taekwondo and McIvor Cup Soccer Tournament and are now focusing on health, fitness, and safety through Jump Rope for Heart and our SunSmart program.
On Friday 10th October, nineteen PMPS students proudly took part in the Beachside Division Athletics Carnival. Reaching this level was a huge achievement, and all participants should feel incredibly proud. Our students represented PMPS beautifully, giving their all – whether chasing a personal best or simply doing their best on the day.
The following students earned placings in their events:
Jack, Jessica, Olivia, Michaela and Danielle represented PMPS at the Southern Metropolitan Region Athletics Carnival today, Friday 24th October, and they were outstanding! They've made PMPS history – every single one has qualified for the State Championships!
We’re so proud of their incredible achievements – and in an amazing coincidence, every PMPS athlete placed 2nd in their events!

Matei in Year 5 has had an incredible year in Taekwondo Poomsae, showing skill, dedication, and true sportsmanship at every competition. Out of five competitions he won four gold medals and one silver medal – an outstanding achievement!
He’s now a double state champion and was victorious at the international competition in Melbourne in July, where he was recognised as the Best Junior Poomsae Competitor and received a stunning trophy.
Most recently, Matei travelled to Adelaide for the Australian Taekwondo Championships, where he became the Vice-Champion of Australia, taking home a silver medal and earning an invitation to represent Australia at the World Taekwondo competition next season!
Throughout the year, Matei has represented Halls Taekwondo, Victoria State, and Port Melbourne Primary School with passion, focus, and pride.
Congratulations, Matei – what an incredible journey so far! We can’t wait to see what’s next.

Our amazing Year 5 divers, Hanna and Sia, competed at the Elite Junior National Championships in Perth – taking on the best young divers from across Australia!
Both girls placed in the top six in the nation, missing a podium finish by just 0.35 points! Their focus, resilience, and determination were truly inspiring. We’re so proud of you, Hanna and Sia!

A group of Year 2 boys: Edward B, Patrick Q, Archie B, Hudson HB, Mael A, Christian T, John A, Lucas SC, Amaury D and Noah L competed in the McIvor Cup Soccer Tournament last weekend.

The competition featured mostly academy and division 1 players, but the U8 boys from Middle Park F.C. decided to give it a go after a strong season. They played a round robin on Saturday, facing several tough teams, with only the top four advancing to Sunday’s finals. Finishing 4th, they took on the team that finished 1st to make it to the Grand Final. They beat that team 2-1 in their best game of the year!
In a thrilling Grand Final, the boys went down in the final minutes to finish as runners-up. As the dust has settled on their result, they are all hungry to head back next year and win that gold trophy, but for now they are all enjoying their runners up trophy and look forward to next season. A massive well done boys!

This term PMPS are participating in our annual Jump Rope for Heart program.
Jump Rope for Heart is one of Australia’s most loved physical activity and fundraising programs. It’s designed to get students skipping to good health as it’s an ideal exercise for healthy hearts, muscles, and bones, while raising funds to help the Heart Foundation fight heart disease.
That’s important because:
Students have been handed out Jump Rope for Heart Packs that include a flyer and a keychain with a QR Code to sign up.
So far, PMPS have raised a total of $532. Let's raise as much money as we can for this amazing foundation.

Term 4 is one of our SunSmart terms. During PE, students must bring a water bottle and wear a hat to every lesson. If a student doesn’t have a hat for an outdoor class, the rule applies:
No hat, no play, no fun today (in PE!)
Please also remind students that hats are required during lunch and recess, regardless of the weather, or they will need to sit in the shade.
