Club de Español

¡Hola familias!
Our session on Monday was very special. Sunny W-A’s (1/2 A) grandparents who are visiting from Colombia, were in charge of the activity, and Sunny helped them translating for those who did not speak Spanish.
We played with la eñe (o "ñ"). Sunny’s grandmother started by telling the kids that her grandchildren in Colombia call her Ñaña. Kids and grownups repeated her nickname and amazed us with their excellent pronunciation. Then we played a Word Guess Game to find words that had la eñe , such as niña, niño and uña. Later, the abuelos, played a short verse of a Spanish song to find two difficult words: Limeña and castañuela. After that, all kids created their own crossword with eñe words they found in story books. Kids came up to the board to share their work. We learned more words such as araña, soñar and extraño. It was a fun and memorable activity.
Come and join us next Monday, when we will create masks inspired by native Chilean birds. It will be a very colorful and feather-ly experience.
Our amazing volunteer parents, who put their heart and soul into this club, have created a survey as they want to hear from you: Have you attended the club? Have you liked it? How can we improve it? Please click in the link below:
