Regional Athletics Success

Last Wednesday, we had an incredible day on the athletics track for LPS. We had 20 students represent LPS at the Regional Athletics Championship in Newborough. The 20 students were competing in 25 events across the day. 

The following 14 students (unprecedented amount!) have qualified for the State Athletics Championships on Wed Nov 6: 

Evie Rodwell 9/10G Hurdles - 2nd

AJ Callahan 12/13B Hurdles - 1st, 12/13B Triple Jump - 2nd

Mack Katz 12/13B Shot Put - 2nd

Samara Johnston 11G Hurdles - 2nd

Arya O'Malley 12/13G High Jump - 1st, 12/13G Discus - 2nd

Torah Shannon 9/10G Triple Jump - 1st

Lexie Rodwell 12/13G 200m - 3rd

Nicola Davies 11G 800m - 2nd

Dom Cridge 11B 100m - 1st

Ewan McCarthy 11B 200m - 3rd

Gus Rowe 11B Discus - 2nd

Arya O'Malley, Paige Weston, Lexi Price and Lexie Rodwell 12/13 Girls Relay - 2nd

Jaxon Eddy, Mack Katz, AJ Callahan and Hugo Fennell 12/13 Boys Relay - 1st

An astonishing 15 of the 25 events placed on the podium to finish in the top 3 best in all of Gippsland. 

A huge well done to all 20 students that made it this far. It is a very impressive feat to make it to Regionals. Thanks to Warwick Ford and Katrina Houston for giving support to the students on the day and driving the bus very early in the morning.
