Hello again and welcome back to Term 4! This term is always busy with End of Year events and concerts, Year 6 Graduation, 2026 Transition, 2026 Leadership speeches and we also have a Year 4 Camp to Sovereign Hill in mid December. I've returned from my Long Service Leave feeling mentally refreshed (albeit jetlagged) after six weeks in Europe. Here are some snaps of my travels to Portugal, Spain, Greece and Turkiye:

2025 Term 4 Team Newsletters

Team Newsletters are created by Team Leaders to provide a curriculum overview for each year level, as well as dates and information about other programs operating across the school. We ask that parents and carers take the time to read any relevant pages for your family in order to stay abreast of what is happening at Golf Links. 

ICAS Certificates 

We should be receiving our 2025 ICAS certificates shortly in the mail. I will distribute higher placed certificates at future school assemblies and publish the results in the weekly newsletter. 

RGLPS had over 160 ICAS registrations this year so certificate presentations will need to be distributed over a number of weeks. I will send a Compass alert announcing the date various ICAS certificates will be presented so that parents and families can make arrangements to attend assembly if they wish. Please keep an eye out for these Compass alerts.

Maths Challenge

Well done to everyone who continued to persist with the match stick number challenge over the holiday break. We are getting closer! Leo (2D) and Dylan (2C) both managed to make the number 5031, our largest number yet. Would you believe it... there is still a larger number that is possible to make by moving two matchsticks. I wonder if anyone can continue working on the challenge to find an even larger number. Hint: Leo and Dylan are both on the right track, moving matchsticks to increase the number of digits.
