Around the College

Tuesday 10 February 2026 is our School Photo Day.

It is essential that all students are dressed in full correct school uniform for photographs, including their blazer, correct school socks, and appropriate school shoes.

Our uniform preference for school photos is as follows:

  • Girls: Summer dress with blazer, worn with correct school socks (white) and shoes, or navy blue summer shorts with school shirt and blazer, worn with correct school socks (white) and school shoes.
  • Boys: Grey shorts with school shirt and blazer, worn with correct school socks (grey) and school shoes.

PE uniform and Building and Construction uniforms are not to be worn for school photos. If your child does not have correct school socks, these can be purchased from the College Office on Monday prior to Photo Day.

Students who have Physical Education scheduled on this day should bring their PE uniform to change into after photos are taken.

This year, photo envelopes will not be used. Photos will be available for purchase online via the photographer’s website, with ordering details sent to parents at a later date. The online ordering system allows families to order photos at their convenience.

Sibling photographs will also be available for purchase. If you would like a family portrait, sibling photos will take place at approximately 12:25 pm, with a call-out made on the day for siblings to attend.

Thank you for your cooperation

Year 7 Students at Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College

The first week of Year 7 at Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College has been a whirlwind, to say the least. With so many new faces, routines and spaces, the students have demonstrated patience, kindness and curiosity as we begin getting to know one another. It’s been heartening to see friendships forming, students supporting each other, and a genuine enthusiasm for being part of a new community.

Our Year 7 cohort comprises students from over 20 primary schools, with students travelling from Yanakie through to Koo Wee Rup, and this diversity has already added to the richness of the group. Teachers have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our newest students and have been incredibly impressed by the way they’ve approached the week—with positivity, resilience and a willingness to give things a go. St Mary of the Cross said that we should all remember that no one is perfect and we should bear with one another; an approach that we should all take with us into our daily lives, and hopefully, you start to see shine through as this cohort continues to grow and thrive throughout the year.

Welcome Back to Science!

The Science Department is excited to welcome students back for a brand-new year of discovery. Our Year 8 students kicked off their first lesson by tackling a science escape room challenge. The activity was a fun and interactive way to revisit essential lab safety rules and remind everyone how to work safely and responsibly in our laboratories. With curiosity sparked and safety refreshed, we’re all set for a year packed with hands-on experiments, practical investigations, and plenty of scientific exploration. We can’t wait to see what our students discover this year!
