Wellbeing
Mr. John Ryan - Deputy Principal
As we begin a new term, the Wellbeing Team warmly welcomes all parents and carers back to the Mary MacKillop College community. Student wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do, grounded in the values of compassion, respect and care that Mary MacKillop herself modelled. In this section of the newsletter, we will share updates, resources and reflections to support the social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our students, and to strengthen the partnership between home and school. We thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to help every student flourish.
School Transitions
Whether it is starting school for the first time, moving up to a higher grade or embarking on a journey through secondary school, there is no doubt that any school transition is a very exciting time for children and parents. It means your children are growing up!
However, transitioning is an ongoing process. It can persist long after students have entered their new environment and may encounter difficulties at multiple stages. These stressors may appear as anxiety and frustration and result in negative or disruptive behaviours. Such behaviours can become problematic, making the transition process even more difficult for children and parents.
In this edition of SchoolTV, parents will learn practical strategies to support their child through the transition and reduce stress and anxiety.

Uniform Guidelines
All students are expected to wear the regulation College Uniform whilst at the College and travelling to and from the College. All uniform items, including shoes, must always be kept clean and tidy. Students may wear any MMCRC uniform item commensurate with their timetable for that day. The uniform is a twelve-month uniform, meaning students may wear a traditional summer or winter item as they prefer. Mixing traditional and summer items with winter items is listed below.

Breaches
In the morning homeroom, the teacher in charge will identify uniform breaches that will be recorded on the SIMON student management system. Breaches will fall under two categories. See below for more information.

Parents are asked to ensure black flared slacks and personal hoodies are not worn to the College on any given day.
