YEAR THREE

Grade Bulletin - Term Two, 2026

Religious Education

DLY3 - The Liturgical Year

Throughout Term Two, Year Three students will also take part in the 'Liturgical Year' unit. This unit enables students to explore the traditions, beliefs, Scripture and events celebrated by the Catholic community throughout the Liturgical Year, especially during the time of Easter to Pentecost. Easter celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus and is a time of hope and new life.

B3: Church and Community - Pentecost

This unit explores the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It focuses on the Holy Spirit as the source of strength, enabling us to continue the mission of Jesus. The unit looks at the Holy Spirit as the fulfilment of Jesus’ promise not to leave us alone after he had ascended into Heaven.  It concludes by identifying the mystery of the Holy Trinity as central to our faith.

C3: God, Religion and Life - Christian Goodness

Year Three will begin the year exploring the 'God, Religion and Life- Christian Goodness' unit. In this unit, students will learn that they are created and loved by God. Students will learn about the second story of creation, which speaks of the creative act of God, an outpouring of divine love and goodness, in which we are all called to share. The students are encouraged to explore their giftedness and identify how they can use their gifts for the good of all. The students will identify ways they can give glory, praise, and thanks to God through prayer and the celebration of the Eucharist. The unit concludes by focusing on sharing God’s love, through the ways we live in the right relationship with God and other people, using Jesus as our example.

Year Three will attend Parish Mass on allocated Fridays throughout the term. You are warmly invited to join us and parishioners on this day.
