Welcome to our new staff in 2026

Erin McGroarty in Class 1:

I am very happy to be joining Alice Springs Steiner School as the Class One teacher in 2026! I hold an Advanced Diploma in Steiner Education and a Bachelor of Primary Education and have spent the past 5 years working in a Steiner School in inner-city Melbourne.

I was incredibly lucky to be educated in Steiner Schools from kindergarten to Year 12 which has deeply shaped my love of learning and my approach to teaching. I especially enjoy teaching through story, art, music and creative movement and value the way Steiner Education speaks to the head, heart and hands of the child.

I am passionate about creating a warm, rhythmic classroom environment where children feel safe, seen and inspired to learn.

I am greatly looking forward to becoming part of the school community and spending my personal time exploring, hiking and camping (when the weather cools down)! Thank you for such a warm welcome.

I hold a Bachelor of Teaching English as a Second Language and a Masters in Linguistics and a Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching from Edith Cowan University in WA. Originally from South Korea, I enjoy crochet, traditional Korean knitting, and playing the ukulele in my personal time.

From the Finance Manager:

Dear Families,

We hope everyone is settling into their rhythm for the term.  There is a small delay in the issuing of invoices. Please keep an eye on your emails over the coming week, as they will be sent shortly.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding — we truly appreciate it.

Warm regards,

Ra Schwalger
