Hi!  My name is Mary and I am delighted to be joining the SFS family. I am married and have two grown up sons and 3 beautiful grandchildren.

I live by the beach and one of my very favourite things is to walk along the beach in all kinds of weather. I also love travelling, both overseas and within Australia. As a result of my love of nature and animals, I will be helping your children explore all about the environment and how we can look after it as God has asked us to do.

Oh, and my other love is Collingwood!!

I look forward to getting to know you and working with you.

Hello SFS Community!

I am delighted to be joining the team this year to teach Music to our Juniors and Seniors. I am deeply passionate about music performance, and I am particularly excited to help students connect with their faith and grow closer to God through their musical gifts.

Before coming to SFS, I was a Primary Music Teacher at Maranatha Christian School for two years. I also spent 18 years in the public system teaching classroom music and specializing in Brass and Woodwind instruction.

When I’m not teaching, I love jamming on my trumpet and bass guitar. Life at home is busy and fun with my two children (10 months and 3 years old), and when I get a quiet moment, I enjoy gaming and eRacing with friends.

I look forward to making some great music with your students this year!

Learning Space 1 Seniors

In Learning Space 1 Seniors, students have been learning how to collect and show data in fun and meaningful ways.

They made tables and graphs to display their information and learned how to label them clearly. Students enjoyed looking at their results, talking about what they noticed, and explaining what their data showed.

This helped them become confident mathematicians who can share their ideas using numbers and pictures.

🎉 A Great Start to 2026 in Digital Technology! 💻

Our senior students have kicked off 2026 in Digital Technology by revisiting our Technology User Agreement. Together, we explored expectations for using devices responsibly, how to stay safe online, and what makes a website appropriate for learning.

If you haven’t already, please remember to read and accept the Technology User Agreement that was sent out on nForma at the end of last year.

To help everyone get to know each other, students also played a game of Two Truths and a Lie—there were plenty of laughs and some very creative stories shared!

📦 Grade 3 Chromebooks Ready! Great news—Grade 3 devices are ready to be distributed. Payments can be made at the office, and once completed, devices will be sent home as soon as possible. Please also remind your child that their Chromebook is their responsibility and they need to ensure that it is coming to school every day fully charged.

🛡️ Supporting Online Safety at Home Did you know that all SFS parents have automatic access to the GoGuardian Parent App? This free app allows you to monitor and support your child’s online activity when they’re not connected to the school network.

If you’re interested in setting this up, please refer to the information sheet below.

Learning Space 2 Seniors

Welcome to a New Year!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break and is ready for an exciting year ahead! Our LS2 team is eager to dive into Term 1 with energy, enthusiasm, and a strong focus on learning and growth.

SWELL Week has been a wonderful start to the year, filled with connection, confidence-building, and lots of smiles! Students have been busy getting to know their teachers, peers, and new learning spaces, while exploring school routines and expectations in a fun and supportive way. We’ve enjoyed team-building activities, creative tasks, and getting to know each other games that help build a strong sense of belonging. It’s been lovely to see students settling in, forming friendships, and starting the year feeling safe, supported, and excited for the learning ahead.

Some activities we completed:

  • identifying our safety network (people we can go to for help) at home and at school.
  • creating an all about me t-shirt.
  • learning about a growth mindset and its importance when setting and achieving goals
  • started creating our prayer mats.
  • making a patchwork quilt of Celtic crosses to connect with our theme of “Christ beside me, walking in the footsteps of St. Patrick”.
