I would like to sincerely thank you all for your ongoing support of our music program throughout the year. Your encouragement makes a significant difference, and the success of our Arts Evening was a wonderful reflection of our strong school community. Seeing students share their learning so proudly was a huge highlight of my year.

Students have learned to recognise how pitch shapes melodies, how rhythm gives music its drive and energy, and how timbre and texture create colour and atmosphere. They have listened carefully, performed bravely, and shown curiosity and perseverance as musicians. These skills not only build musical understanding but also support creativity, teamwork and self-expression.

As we head into the holiday period, I encourage you all to keep music alive beyond the classroom. In Australia, music plays a special role in how we celebrate, connect and relax together. This might be through attending or participating in carols events, enjoying movie soundtracks and film scores, or making music part of family gatherings and celebrations with collaborative playlists. Listening closely to how music sets a mood, tells a story or brings people together is a powerful way for students to continue learning in a natural and enjoyable way. These intentional musical moments help children see that music is not just something we do at school, but something that enriches everyday life.

Thank you for a fantastic year of music, and I wish all families a joyful, music-filled holiday season.

From your Music Teacher,

Mrs Cheese, Rachel
