It is with great pleasure that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 9 students for their commendable efforts during the recent NAPLAN assessments. Over the past two weeks, our students demonstrated resilience, determination, and academic excellence as they tackled these important tests. NAPLAN, the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy, provides valuable insights into our boys’ progress and achievements in key areas of literacy and numeracy. It serves as a benchmark for academic growth and enables us to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement, guiding our ongoing efforts to support student learning and development.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 and Year 9 students for their dedication and commitment to performing their best during the NAPLAN assessments. Their hard work and preparation leading up to the tests have undoubtedly contributed to their success, reflecting the high standards of academic excellence that we uphold here at Marist College Ashgrove. As a school community, we celebrate not only the achievements of our students but also the dedication of our teachers and staff who have worked tirelessly to support and prepare our students for the NAPLAN assessments. Their commitment to nurturing the academic growth and development of our students is truly commendable and reflects the collaborative spirit that defines Marist College Ashgrove.
As the term draws to a close, the Academic Care Team would like to extend our congratulations to all our boys for completing their examinations. The dedication, hard work, and perseverance displayed throughout the examination period have been commendable. It was wonderful to see our boys demonstrate their knowledge, understanding and application of their term’s work. We look forward to seeing the results of these assessments which will be released via the Parent Portal on Thursday afternoon.
On Thursday 28 March, you will be able to access your son’s results and task-specific feedback for his subjects this term. To access these results please follow the directions outlined here.
Information was sent to parents on Monday 11 March. Please check your emails for booking details for these interviews.
These interviews form an important part of your son’s academic journey and will take place across two dates in Term 2.
Interview schedules for Year 7 to 12 teachers will fill quickly. Once a teacher’s schedule is full, their name will no longer appear in the list of teachers available. To allow for an even distribution of parent appointments, you may only book for a maximum of seven of your son’s subjects, and only one interview is allocated per teacher (eg. if your son has one teacher for two subjects, only one interview time will be permitted).
If you are unable to book an interview with a teacher or unable to attend on the interview dates, please contact that teacher via email. Your son’s teacher details can be found through Parent Lounge.
Students are encouraged to attend interviews. If so, they must be dressed in winter academic uniform.
The interview sessions for Monday 15 April – Champagnat Centre (in person) are:
Interview sessions: 11:00am – 1:00pm, 1:40pm – 3:30pm and 3:50pm – 5:00pm
Interview length: 7-minute interviews for Years 7 to 12.
We understand the importance of equipping our students with not only academic knowledge but also the skills and strategies needed to excel in all aspects of their lives. As a result, we will have the Elevate Education group visit each cohort throughout the school year. This program is designed to empower our boys and inspire their futures. Through interactive workshops and engaging sessions, Elevate has provided invaluable insights into effective study techniques, time management strategies, and stress management tools. By fostering a growth mindset and promoting resilience, Elevate equips our boys with the skills they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Our Year 11 and 12 boys have participated in the interactive workshops over the term, and our Year 7 students will complete their session this Thursday to set them up for success come Term 2.
Please be informed that on the last day of term, this Thursday, the library will close at 3:30pm. We appreciate your attention to this schedule adjustment.
