News from the Deputy Principal

Welcome back to Term 2! Already it is a busy start to the term with the 5/6 and 3/4 camps this week.  I hope that all families had a lovely holiday and are well rested and ready for a busy term 2.

Over the holidays I was lucky enough to spend time with my mum, sister and family at Blairgowrie. The weather was beautiful in the first week and we enjoyed walking along the beach most days.  The rest of my holidays was spent doing jobs around the house and painting our loungeroom and hallway.  It was a great time spent unwinding!

Have you seen the newly refurbished GAGA pit?

Over the school holidays, Anthony has worked extremely hard on adding drainage and synthetic turf to our gaga pit. This will not only help to make the court an all weather court, but also is much easier to play on.  The students have already been enjoying many GAGA tournaments during p[laytime this week.  Thankyou to Anthony for your hard work!

Australian Early Development Census  2024(AEDC) data collection

This term we will be conducting the Australian Early Development Census which will be conducted in May and focuses on the students in Foundation.  More information can be found for parents on the AEDC website https://www.aedc.gov.au/parents/faq-for-parents.

The Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) is a population based measure of how children have developed by the time they start school. It looks at five areas of early childhood development: physical health and wellbeing, social competence, emotional maturity, language and cognitive skills (school-based), and communication skills and general knowledge.

Information for parents about their child’s participation in the AEDC is available via the Parents page.  Please click on the link below for the AEDC newsletter article.

A Parent information letter will be sent to the families of Foundation students in the coming weeks.

Wishing you all a wonderful week this week,

Katie
