Principal’s News

Nicholas Boyhan

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a whirlwind start to Term Two!  We were only back for a couple of days and we were off on School Camp to Sovereign Hill.......and what a great time we had! The weather was fairly kind to us, allowing us to engage in lots of fun and educational activities.

The Five/Six Students were a credit to their families and St Joseph's School.  They behaved responsibly, showed respect to each other, the school and camp staff and members of the general public and pushed themselves to try things outside of their comfort zone.  We had many great displays of resilience.

By all accounts, the Year 3/4s had a great time too.  I enjoyed keeping an eye on what they were up to on the St Joe's Facebook Page.  However, camp is just the beginning.

Sacraments

In the coming weeks our Sacrament Preparation Nights will be commencing for our children making their first Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. They are being held at Mount Evelyn with the students and catechists from St Mary’s. We look forward to the celebration of these sacraments later in the year.

Mother's Day

In May we will be celebrating Mother’s Day. We have a Mother’s Day Stall on Thursday 9 May where our students will purchase gifts for their mothers. On Friday 10 May we are holding a Mother’s Day Breakfast for all the mothers or other special women in the children’s lives. This will be followed by a liturgy in the SPA Centre and activities in the classrooms for the mum’s and children.

School Photos

School Photos will be coming up on Friday 3 May.  Please view the PDFs below to find out about the ordering options and procedures:

Pupil Free Day

As notified at the beginning of the year, this Friday 26 April is a Pupil Free Day.  This will give our students a four day ANZAC Day weekend.

Assembly Wednesday

Due to the Pupil Free Day on Friday, our Assembly has been shifted to Wednesday 24 April at 2:15pm.  We will be making some presentations to our 2024 SRC Representatives. There will be Student of the Week certificate presentations to the students who missed theirs at the last assembly in Term One.

Please look ahead through our School Calendar for other upcoming dates throughout Term Two.

Kind regards,

Nick.
