1/2W

1/2W

We have loved getting to know each other in 1/2W this term!

The students have been completing lots of new learning, creating friendships, building up their routines and having fun. It is hard to believe how quickly the term has gone by - have a look at some of the things we have been working on!

In Literacy, we have been focussing on reading and writing about Australian animals and their features, habitats and what they need to survive. We were so excited to get the opportunity to go to Myuna Farm with all of the 1/2s this week for our excursion to continue our learning about living things.

In Maths, through our strand topics we have been focussing on data and shapes. Students worked on asking survey questions, analysing data and plotting the information in a simple graph. 1/2W students have also been investigating 2D shapes and their features - they were able to sort them based on colours or attributes.

In Religion, we have been discussing why and how we pray. Students have had the opportunity to explore this concept by setting up our special prayer space, learning a variety of sacred prayers and exploring the use of religious songs to help them. The students have each written a special prayer of hope or thanks for things that are important to them.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter holiday break with their families coming up and are looking forward to the rest of the year learning together in 1/2W.
