PBL Update
We are gaining momentum with our PBL journey. We are heading into our third week and expect to see students and staff demonstrating our 3rd PBL Value, COMMITMENT!
Staff will be explicitly teaching, modelling and positively reinforcing what it looks like at SJJU to show commitment using the draft SJJU Expected Behaviours matrix as a guide.
We will be learning about how to show commitment as an individual, as a team/class member and as part of a large school community. We will focus on teaching how to be committed to our faith, to learning and to being a COMPASSIONATE and RESPECTFUL person, (our other two PBL values).
Staff will be handing out #WeAreCommittedAtSJJU wrist bands when they spot students demonstrating commitment. We hope that the conversation about commitment extends into your home.
In Term 2 the PBL Team will workshop the PBL SJJU Expected Behaviors Matrix with parents and carers, staff and students. Every fortnight in Terms 2-4, we will focus on teaching one expected behavior and celebrate the success of our students as they acquire the social/emotional behaviour or executive function skill. Every expected behaviour aligns with one of our school values. There is great and exciting learning to come at SJJU!
Please don't hesitate to reach out to a member of our PBL Team or myself if you have any questions or concerns about PBL.
