STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Bellarine and Geelong North Division Swimming Championships

On Tuesday the 12th of March selected students from Grades 4 to Grade 6 competed in the Bellarine and Geelong North Division Swimming Championships. We were super excited this year as we managed to fill out 4 relay teams!

Congratulations to all who performed on the day, with special congrats to Zach R from Grade 4SW for making it through to the next round.

Thanks to the parent helpers for their support (and wonderful photos), and huge thanks to Amy VanBraam and Peter for their organisation in making the day possible.

Gr 5 & 6 Lightning Prem - Basketball

On Thursday the 7th of March the year 5's and 6's played in the 2024 Lightening Premiership. I competed in the girls basketball. I was in the girls B team with Lexi, Isla, Harper, Alexia and Eva. In the day we played 3 games. The first game was Rollins Primary and we lost but we were still really excited for the day ahead. Later on we played Manifold Heights and we won! The score was 8 to 12.

Next we versed Hamlyn Banks. That was a really tough game. We tried really hard and it was the best we played. Even though we lost we were all so proud. Our team did not get in the grand final but we were still happy with how we played. The girls A team got into the grand final but they lost. Even though they lost my team was cheering and encouraging their team after the game and all through the game. The boys B team got through as well but they lost as well. Like the girls we were so proud of them.

The Boys A team got to the final as well. And they won! As soon as the siren went every Chilwell student who was there ran onto the court and celebrated. We were so excited. We were all happy with how we played. Thank you to all the teachers and parent helpers who made it possible. And thanks to Amy ( my mum ) who coached our team.

On the other hand the boys A team won 3 games and went undefeated and went on to beat Manifold Heights in the grand final by two points.

It was a great team effort and they are going through to division
