Devotion

For this Holy Week at Good Shepherd, we have been using a wonderful book called “The Garden, the Curtain, and the Cross” by Carl Laferton.

It’s an amazing summary of the message of salvation in the Bible; the first people and God living in perfect harmony, sin coming into the world and humanity being separated from God because of it, God still wanting to be with the people and using the temple but being hidden behind the great curtain (it was for their safety - God is good and perfect and the opposite of evil and sin), and then the coming of Jesus to take away our sin and the sin of the world so that we can be united with God again from now till eternity. (There are several YouTube videos about this book if you are interested - just google it and ask your young people about it and the activities they have been doing around it at school).

If there is one takeaway for you this Easter, may it be that you can lay your sins, your darkness, and your troubles at the foot of the cross and leave them there and experience peace with God.

May God bless you all with peace and safety this Easter ✝️

Easter Service times at Good Shepherd

The message of Easter is the message of love. A family meal on Maundy Thursday, the extent of the Father’s love shown in Jesus’ death for us on Good Friday and the celebration of living in the reality of all that Jesus’ resurrection has won for us!

You’re invited to join us over Easter to partake, reflect, worship and celebrate God’s love for us! Easter services begin tonight.
