Young Leaders Day
On Monday of Week 6, the Year 6 Leaders travelled to Sydney to attend the ‘Young Leaders day’.
During this day, the students were lucky to hear from a number of speakers, including Anastasia Woolmer who demonstrated her exceptional memory, Eva Amores and the author Matt Cosgrove, who sparked the students imaginations with their stories and enthusiasm, Stephen O’Keefe the Australia Cricketer and Bryson Klein who won the German Ninja Warrior.
These speakers all taught our students life lessons of resilience, perseverance, discovery, authenticity, independence and bravery.
Each of our leaders was gifted with their own ‘Halogen pin’ on the day, which represents the ‘purest light’, a beautiful reminder message for our leaders to lead by.
Another of many highlights was the dinner the night before, where our leaders got to enjoy each other's company and bond further.
Our St Xavier’s Young Leaders thoroughly enjoyed their experience and have returned to school inspired and full of new and exciting ideas and experiences to share and make our school a better place.
Thank you Mrs Sloan and Mrs Leys who attended with our leaders and helped navigate them through the day.
