MAGNIFICENT MATHS DAY!!!!

A huge thank you to all our parents and students for the fantastic efforts to design and make such creative colourful costumes for maths day on Tuesday.

The day was a huge success with students being involved in maths activities for the whole day. The day started with our fantastic parade of the students' mathematics-based costumes, where we had everything from calculators, dice, Taylor Swift devotees, protractors and the mighty Ruler of Rulers!  Parents were then invited into classrooms to play some fun games with their children.

After lunch, the children engaged in mathematical literacy, reading stories and completing maths activities. They explored everything from 'how big is a million?,' to different times and clocks, to how to make numbers using crabs, dogs and humans!!

After lunch the children moved into house groups where they worked collaboratively with their peers from Prep to 6 to make the longest paper chain they could. Congratulations to O'Grady-Samaritan house who won the competition with a chain that was over 60 metres long!!
